Created to demonstrate the improved scalability of the FRX15r2, this single-launch Mun mission carries up to 3 Kerbals to the surface of the Mun (and up to 8 Kerbals into low Mun orbit) on a single FRX15r2L1.L2-S06.4 launch vehicle. Second stage of the FRX is used for TMI, MOI, and part of the lander deorbit burn.
This stack is used for the Basic Core
mission profile. The Full Core
profile adds additional TMI fuel and a single-seat pressurized rover via an additional FRX15 launch and LKO rendezvous.
Description
Big G was an experimental expanded Gemini capsule with room for 6 more passengers and an additional science bay. This one was pulled out of Jeb’s scrapyard by a SHSLS covert acquisitions agent and retrofitted for use as a crew ferry and short-duration OTV. This launch kit includes a Long Tank FRX15 with four radial SRBs to compensate for the service module’s higher mass.
A mod rocket called SHSLS FRX15 Mun Mission Basic Core. Built with 85 of the finest parts, its root part is FASAGeminiPod2.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 0.90.0.
